The Department of Electronics Engineering has been an integral part of RAIT since 1983, the year of its inception. The Department has an intake of 240 students for Undergraduate Program and 18 for Post-graduate Program. Although started with a modest strength of faculty and students, subsequently a lot of efforts have gone into developing the department into a strong institution. Now it has become one of the foremost research departments in the University of Mumbai. The Department has well qualified faculty with PG and Doctorate qualification from IITs and NITs.
To keep up with the new curriculum and advances in technology, the facilities in department have been upgraded. Laboratories are well equipped with hi-tech equipment’s, aiming to provide required hands on experience for the students to understand the concepts. The Departments have various laboratories such as Electronic devices, Embedded systems, Advanced Microprocessor, Integrated circuits, VLSI, Communication, Microwave and Fiber optics.
Many of our students have brought laurels to the Department by being rank holders in the university, GATE, CAT, GMAT, TOEFL, GRE etc. The Department actively supports students organizing technical events held under the auspices of IEEE and IETE.
This Department is accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA), New Delhi.
Department of Electronics Engineering was established in the year 1983 to impart the quality education to the budding engineers with an intake of 120 students. The intake was increased to 180 students from the year 2013 and further to 240 from the year 2014. The department also runs a PG programme M. E. (Electronics Engineering) from year 2005-06 with an intake of 18. The department is recognized as Research Center in Electronics Engineering.
The process of learning is extremely important in life. What you learn, how you learn and where you learn play a crucial role in developing one’s intellectual capability. The department of Electronics Engineering offers premier professional technical training that keeps the students to be in pace with the latest developments in the field of Electronics Engineering.
The department trains its Technocrats to face the challenges in life by providing many value added courses to enhance their career prospects. Excellent Infrastructure, coupled with best faculty substantiates our quality. The Department has been consistently working towards the goal to produce highly skilled and scientifically oriented manpower through flexible, adaptive and progressive training programs along with cohesive interaction with the research organizations, academicians and industries.
IEEE-RAIT is an association of students of this department. The sole purpose of the association is to bring out the hidden talents (technical & non- technical) of the students by organizing various technical activities.
Most of the alumni members of the department are well-placed in reputed organizations like TCS, INFOSYS, Microsoft, Siemens, Reliance, etc. and few of them have joined reputed R&D and teaching organizations after their higher studies from reputed National and International institutions.
Our main motto is to produce graduates who will be technically sound, well cultured and globally competent.
In a nutshell, the department strives to cater the needs of education for the career enhancement of students from both technical as well as social aspects.
The department envisions that the students of the branch become engineers of professional character equipped with a strong theoretical and experimental foundation required for critical thinking, practical engineering skills to face the recent research and industrial challenges in the field, the ability to work in a team dignity, and all the qualities that help them accomplish their goals with a zeal for social awareness.
